Review Spring and Chaos Written by Warpshadow Rating very good

A phantasmagoric look at the stuff dreams are made of is what this odd biogrpahical movie is (in layman's terms it's a movie about a guy and it's really trippy).

Kenji Miyawaza is considered to be one of Japan's greatest writers and poets. Like all geniuses he was almost a madman and definitely not appreciated in his lifetime. He is a dreamer that was out of place in the rural village that he lived in. This short movie is a glimpse into the way that he lived and how he thought.

Spring and Chaos in a weird movie, interesting but weird nonetheless. If you have seen Night on the galactic railroad you will notice a huge similarity. Part of this is that it was a book written by the same author that this biography is about and partially because like that movie, everyone is a taking cat. What this movie excels at is the vivid presentation of Miyazawa's imagination. Even if you can't understand this movie (at one point the subject states that there are parts of his poetry that even he has difficulty with) it is still worth watching for the visuals. Even if you have never heard of Miyazawa this one is definitely worth watching should you ever get the chance, you may want to see if you can find his works after seeing this.
