Review Invader Zim Written by Warpshadow rating very good

So you think that just because Invader Zim was not made in Japan it shouldn't be reviewed in Anifanatikku? Foolish Earth slime, you know not of what you speak. Zim is cool and that is all that matters.

In space the Irken empire is a empire of aliens that like to conquer planets. Zim is one of these alien but his leaders send him to the planet earth in order to get rid of him. Zim still thinks he is on an important assignment. In typical invader fashion Zim disguises himself as a normal earth boy. His disguise isn't perfect for when he goes to skool (that is the way they spell it in this show) Dib sees right through his disguise. However, everybody else thinks Dib is crazy. It is battle between the two for the fate of the World.

Invader Zim is a wicked dark comedy from the mind of Jhonen Vasquez. The humor in the show is an interesting blend of insanity and pig and taco jokes that you won't see anywhere else on either Japanese or American television. Episodes are usually divided into two ten minute segments leaving enough time to tell a story but nothing really deep. As with any comedy with an unusual style reactions will vary. Some people I know dislike it and some people I know worship the cells the show was made on. Personally I think the show is great. Fortunately With DVD sets costing only thirty dollars to a set of nine episodes finding out won't cost that much.
