In romantic anime it is even more important that the viewers care about the characters in the story, as their motives are the whole reason you watch such shows. It would have been good if the makers of Final approach remembered this as the character in this show are some of the shallowest of any genre.

Ryo was a normal boy living a normal life at least until the night that he met Shizuka. She landed through his window and declared that due to a government program she is now his fiancee. Ryo detests the idea and wants Shizuka out of this life. It's too bad for him that Shizuka has a legion of goons that obey her will and some other tricks that allow her to intrude on Ryo's life as much as she wants.

I have been watching anime long enough to know that cute animated girls are a dime a dozen. Therefore it takes something more to make a good anime show. Final approach has none of that. The characters are stale and unbelievable, the plot goes nowhere, there isn't even any decent fan service. The show consists of Shizuka wearing down Ryo by shear cloying power until he supposedly likes her. Like I said before cute animated girls are a dime a dozen and there are hundreds of shows with cute animated girls that are better than this one.
