Hellsing is a show about an invincible vampire that wears a big red coat and kills other vampires with twin pistols. It is as cool or shallow (depending on your tastes) as that sounds.

In the darkness of the night vampires dwell and prey upon humanity. There is also an organization that hunts said beasts called Hellsing. These two truths become clear to police officer Victoria Seras one night when she takes an assignment in a vampire infested village. She is fatally wounded in a conflict with the vampire but her life is in a way saved by the vampire Alucard by making her a vampire like him. She then joins her new master in hunting down other vampires at the behest of the Hellsing organization.

With all this talk of vampires one would think that Hellsing was a horror show although in truth it is more of an action show. The main draw of Hellsing is watching Alucard blow other vampires away to nice animation. Many of the other facets of the show such as character development and the plot are given the short end of the stick so to speak. This is not all bad though, even if Alucard is a bit flat as a character at least he is one of the few vampires since Ann Rice that haven't been emo and that is a major redeeming feature in the eyes of many. This isn't a deep or great show but a good source of gun kata and smack talk and if that isn't enough for you then Hellsing isn't the show for you.
