Odin is a science fiction anime show that manages to be a disgrace to both anime and science fiction.

In the future mankind has extended it's reach beyond it's home planet of Earth With am intention With an intricate system of lasers humanity is able to travel to and from the nearby planets with ease. As always humanity is eager to take the next step and a ship with a gruff captain and an eager crew are there to fulfill that wish. While the ship's mission is to go beyond Jupiter there lies suprises undreamed of in the course of their journey as they will go far beyond the solar system to unlock millennia old secrets.

If in the plot summary it appeared that I left out the characters do not be alarmed, the movie left out the characters as well. While there is a few one dimensional main characters, even they exist simply as functionaries to the plot. Instead of human drama there are attempts at action although a good deal of this consists of people4 spouting techonobabble in an attempt to look impressive. It is very easy to notice what action there is for eighties synth pop starts blaring whenever the movie tries to be exciting. The science of the show is spotty as well ranging from a spaceship that looks just like a galleon (probably in an attempt to copy Leiji Matsumoto) to laser guns that have recoil. I try to find the good side of almost any anime show but with Odin I just can't find it.
