I got to see the Naruto movie in the movie theater with a ton of Naruto fans, probably as it should be. If you are reading this review you probably missed your chance but it still is fun to watch with Naruto fans.

Ninja missions are a vital part of the life of any ninja and for Naruto and company their next mission is to escort the famous actress Yukie to the land of snow. This is more complicated that it would look at first since Yukie is a person who resists going to the land of snow with all her might. It turns out that she has more valid reasons for her reluctance than just not liking cold weather and Naruto will have to deal with more vicious opponents than the paparazzi.

As franchise based movies go the first Naruto movie is a fairly decent piece of cinema but nothing really more. The movie excepts the viewer to be familiar with Naruto and to be a fan of the series. The movie also expects the viewer to be a fan of the main character as this movie exists largely as a vehicle for Naruto Uzumaki's personality. Other aspects are given the short shrift such as a rivalry between Kakashi and a new character introducted for the purpose of creating antagonists for the movie. There is enough fan pandering to make people that genuinely like Naruto to like this movie but on the other hand if the idea of seeing a naruto movie doesn't interest you I suggest you move along and find something else to do with that extra hour and a half.
