Review Nerima Daikon BrothersWritten by WarpshadowRating very good

Some things are just hard to explain. Why vegetable farmers living in Tokyo trying to earn money with various schemes and musical interludes is funny is one of them but trust me it is.

Brothers Hideki and Ichiro along with their cousin Mao are Daikon farmers in the Nerima ward of Tokyo. All three share the dream of building a stadium for them to sing in. However they don't have nearly enough money to fulfill their dreams and the city is crawling with con artists out to take what little money they have. It may look like the odds are stacked against them but with the power of music as well as some help from the local rental shop owner the scales may just tip in their favor.

The most obvious difference between Nerima Daikon Brothers and most other anime shows is that the former is a musical. There are those can't take the musical format seriously and if you are one of those people you can still watch this show because it doesn't take itself seriously either. The first two thirds of this show are stand alone episodes although there is something of a story arc at the end. In either case this show is very random and unpredictable but this works to the benefit of this comedy. I usually am a bit hard on comedic anime shows but in the case of Nerima Daikon Brothers I can overcome that simply because it is a show that is just plain funny and original.
