Review Nagasarete Airantou Written by WarpshadowRating fair

With scads of cute girls and bright colors and little else Nagasarete Airantou to me is a very good textbook example of what a very average moe type show looks like.

While Ikuto was traveling at sea he got caught in a storm and was lost at sea. When he woke up he found himself on a strange island. The island is Airantou a place populated by the descendants of Japanese people who arrived there in the 19th century. More important though is the fact that all of the men on the island were swept away in a tidal wave 12 years ago making Ikuto the first human male anybody on the island has seen for over a decade. Needless to say there are several cute girls on the island.

To call Nagasarete Airantou a mediocre anime show to me is something of an understatement as this show oozes mediocrity in ways that I have seen in few shows. The show is an episodic comedy that I found to be a bit repetitive supplemented by frequent fan service to numb the minds of it’s intended audience. The characters tend to be a bit two dimensional as the vast majority of them exist solely to be one note comic foils. In short Nagasarete Airantou is the sort of show that one watches when there is nothing better to do and trust me there are better things to do even if it is just watching other anime shows.
