Review Shakugan no Shana Season TwoWritten by WarpshadowRating good/ very good

This season of Shakugan no Shana may have some rough spots depending on your tastes but overall I liked this season almost as much as I did the first.

Even though she has defeated all her enemies in the past two constants remain for Shana, that she is a flame haze and that Yuji is the holder of the Reiji Maigo. Those two facts guarantee new foes to come. However unlike a straightforward enemy a development occurs at school as a girl transfers to Shana and Yuji’s class, a girl who looks just like Hecate of the Bal Masque. Is this just a coincidence or could this be just the start of a another plot from the most dangerous enemy that Shana has known?

These days it is a more common practice to make multiple seasons of an anime show than in the old days. Shakugan no Shana is one of those shows that fall under that business scheme. For the most part the quality of the show is on par with that of the first season. The biggest change and the one with the biggest fan contention is the pacing. The first half of the season is fairly easy going with a stronger focus on the relationships between the main characters than was presented in the first season. Those that watch the show to see Shana and friends kick butt will find their favorite part in later episodes when the action returns in full force. If you like Shakugan no Shana this season will have something that you like.
