Review Nogizaka Haruka HimitsuWritten by WarpshadowRating good/ very good

Nogizaka Haruka Himitsu is a romantic comedy that I would describe as above average shonen fare, it’s too harem laden and the story progresses at a decent speed.

Yuto Ayase was a fairly normal high school student expect that he never showed all that much interest in girls. One day while in the library he runs into the most popular girl in school, Haruka Nogizaka. By accident he finds out Haruka's most embarrassing secret, that she is a big fan of anime and manga. Although at first she avoids him Haruka's opinion of Yuto changes when he helps her hide her secret by returning a library book before news of it being late is broadcast around the school. that is only the beginning of the romantic relationship between Yuto and Haruka.

Anime shows with Otaku girls are the new big thing. While not many uses of this new meme are well pulled off the idea works in Nogizaka Haruka Himitsu. The reason for this is that Haruka's hobby is also an insecurity which also gives her a reason to be dating someone below her station like Yuuto. As for Yuuto he is a fairly stable and respectable person given that he is the protagonist in a romantic comedy where such qualities are rare. Many of the episodes contain plots that are quite cliché but on the plus side the relationship between Yuuto and Haruka progresses at a decent pace given that many anime romantic comedies proceed at a glacial pace. Overall I found this to be an above average romantic comedy that I enjoyed and think that if you like shonen romantic comedies you will too.
