Review Melancholy of Haruhi SuzumiyaWritten by WarpshadowRating very good/ excellent

This is the book that started the whole phenomenon and in here is one of the really good parts of Haruhi, no filler, no endless eight.

Kyon was a normal boy who lived a boring life and was just fine with that. His ordinary life was about to be shaken up when on the first day of school a girl named Haruhi made a scene by saying that she only had interest in people that were aliens, time travelers or espers. As Kyon was ordinary as could be his life was left mostly untouched until one day he made an offhand comment that caused Haruhi to form her own after school club dedicated to finding mysterious things which of course she conscripted Kyon into.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is been big business in the anime community ever since 2006 and this is the book that started it all. If you are familiar with the anime this book tells what happens in the first six episodes. If you are not then I suggest that that you read this book anyway as it is a quick and engaging read at only two hundred pages that has interesting characters and has a plot that keeping churning along all throughout the book.
