Anime Review: Moldiver

Review Moldiver Written by Warpshadow rating fair/ good

A fairly disposable Oav that you can get for pretty cheap. While this isn't really a bad show it just isn't good enough for me to really care about it. If you want to watch a light action show you might like it a bit more than I did.

Hiroshi Ozora is the genius scientist who figured out how to create an invincible suit that gave it's wear super powers. There is one big problem, his sister Mirai thinks that Hiroshi's design is ugly, so late one night she decides to make some alterations so it will look better. This makes the suit so girlie that Hiroshi refuses to use the suit and so hands over the job of saving the world to Mirai. Maybe not the entire world since the biggest problem at the time is the evil Prof. Machinegal who has a thing for old technology and is very willing to obtain it illegally (outright theft) by use of his army of robots.

My general impression of Modiver is that it is fairly generic and ultimately forgettable Oav. The plot is shallow especially in the first three episodes where nothing except for fights and half hearted comedy. Fortunately the show picks up in the later half as the episodes start to connect to each other. The characters don't really have that much time to develop but manage not to be annoying. The animation is neither good enough or bad enough to really comment on. Even though Moldiver is not what I would call bad it is not something I would recommend, especially to those that don't have that much time to watch anime.
