My usual procedure when reviewing anime is to review the entire series and sum it up into one review. After seeing Megazone 23 in it's entirety I decided to make an exception to this policy and review the third part separately.

Eiji Takanaka is a hotshot gamer and hacker who lives in the slightly futuristic Eden city. He is so skilled that he was able to sign on with the EX company who controls the city. Just before his first day on the job he gets a whiff of an interesting girl with some equally interesting data. It turns out that it is just the top layer of a conspiracy that reaches down to center of Eden city and back five centuries.

After watching the first two part of Megazone 23 I can honestly say I didn't have much hope for the third part. Fortunately this movie turned out a lot better than it's predecessors did. The plot of this story is only loosely connected to the other Megazone 23 movies and feels like a remake as much as a sequel. In my opinion Eiji made a much more convincing hero for a story Like Megazone 23 than Shogo did. They also took out the unexplained and unnecessary plot hook of alien invasion. Overall the story is much tighter with less plot holes. While I would say that this is a great movie it is certainly a step up from the earlier episodes and something worth watching.
