Are you hard person to offend? This is an important question for any person who might see Ninja resurrection because the show pretty much does it's best to offend you. This show has everything, pointless sex, blasphemy and really gory violence.

In the Seventeenth Century there was a rebellion by the Christians in Japan, as the Shogun outlawed their religion. Under the leadership of Shiro Amakusa and behind the walls of Haruno castle they are a hard nut for the Shogunate to crack. So the general of the Army hires the super cool ninja Yagyu Jubei to infiltrate the castle and assassinate their leader. Unbeknownst to either Shiro or Jubei is that there is a dark prophecy in play. It says that if Shiro is unable to fulfill his roll as Messiah he will return to the world as Satan reborn.

Ninja Resurrection despite some billing as such is not the sequel to Ninja Scroll. Enjoyment of the show mostly depends on how much the viewer enjoys watching really gory battle scenes. The fights are energetic and fast paced although not particularly inspired. There are two parts to Ninja Resurrection with the first part being clearly superior to the second. Not only is the plot weak in the second half it ends in a rather inconclusive way with no more episodes after that. At most I would recommend this as a rental to fans of action movies.
