Review Slayers Next Written by Warpshadow Rating very good

I usually watch a show all the way through before reviewing because oftentimes anime shows take awhile before they reach their peak. In the case of Slayers it took all the way until the second season.

Lina Inverse probably will not rest until she eaten all the food, gotten all the money, and accidentally destroyed all the cities in the world. She has other goals this time as well, namely the super secret magical text known as the Claire Bible. Her friend Zelgadis also seeks out the Claire Bible to return him to his original forum. Whatever the reasons they look like they are going to need it for Lina and friends have gotten themselves embroiled in a massive conspiracy involving monsters, and the leaders aren't guys that can be taken out with a dragon slave. There is also that weird and rather suspicious guy named Xellos who follows the group around.

Anyone who liked the first Slayers series should definitely come back for the second one. The humor is the same and as good if not better as the ubiquitous filler episode provide for good comedy. The animation quality is noticeably improved. For me what sets the show apart is the plot. Not only is it cohesive but also maintains a high level of excitement for a long period of time. Out of the entire Slayers franchise (three television seasons and over half a dozen movies and Oavs) Slayers Next is clearly the best out of all of them.
