Review Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru SoraWritten by WarpshadowRating good/ very good

Watching this show all I can think is that the stand alone Oav market is dead. It used to be that six episodes meant a show was an Oav but now that is not the case.

Yuuichi Ezaki is a young man hospitalized even though he sometimes sneaks out at night. One day at the request of one of the nurses he visits a girl named Rika. Although Rika has a difficult personality and is quick to anger, she and Yuuichi do form a bond of sorts. While Yuuichi just has a virus that his body will deal with in due time Rika has a heart condition that will eventually be fatal if she doesn’t have surgery.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is a six episode show that falls squarely in the romance genre although it doesn’t fit neatly into Shonen or Shojo. The length of the show is fine as it doesn’t try to get too complex for it’s own good and does manage to have a satisfying conclusion. Despite it’s origins on television this show resembles an Oav. There are some things that could have used some more development or explanation but overall the story does feel complete. As for pacing I would say this is more of a character oriented show as opposed to a plot one so don’t go in looking for action. Overall I would say it’s a nice story that doesn’t require too much commitment to watch.
