I try my best to understand what other fans might like but in the interest of being an honest reviewer sometimes even I have to tell the fan community that their favorite show sucks.

This is the story of four high school girls. Konata Izumi is smart and athletic although she wastes her talents on an obsessive love of anime and video games. Kagami Hiragi is a straight laced sort of girl who scolds both Konata and her less diligent sister Tsukasa for not studying enough. Rounding out the group is Miyuki Takara who is a person of knowledge and a calming presence on the group. Finishing every episode is the Lucky Channel Segment with hosts Akira and Minoru.

If you are a regular reader of my reviews (not only do I thank you for your readership) you would know that whenever I simply post character attributes in the paragraph that the plot usually goes it is because the show really doesn’t have a plot and this case is no exception. Lucky Star is what many call a slice of life anime but often those slices turn out to be inane things like a seven minute conversation about how you eat chocolate cornets. There are several references to other shows but most of this comes off as otaku pandering rather than being actually clever.
