To be honest there are a good number of a good franchise movies, it just so happens that this is not one of them.

To most people Horai island is nothing more than a legend but to the half demon children living there it is a place of nightmares. One day the youngest of them manages to escape and runs right smack into our heroes. She is being followed by a gigantic turtle who is in fact one of the four gods who are behind all of the trouble on Horai island. Even though Inu Yasha and friends manage to drive off the turle their troubles are only beginning as the curse that binds the children to the island has ensnared Inu Yasha and things won’t be settled until one party dies.

Inu Yasha has been a fairly active franchise producing at least four movies as of this review. After seeing all of them I can safely say that this is the weakest of the bunch. The main problem is how it failed to create an epic feel as opposed to a long episode the way that many franchise movies including the previous Inu Yasha movies did. So in a sense it feels like a few filler episodes rather than a true movie. The rather forced inclusion of Kikyo and Seshomaru doesn’t really help matters. I can’t really recommend this movie although anybody who might like it will probably watch it regardless of what I have to say.
