Anime Review: Manabi Straight

I found this to be a very cute show, not only on the surface but in it’s message as well. I found it quite charming but make sure you brush your teeth afterwards.

In the year 2035 the rate of births was declining and schools had to scale back on activities which contributed to a sense of apathy among students. Seioh high was not immune to such an attitude with a non existent student council. Maybe that might all start to change with the arrival of the super energetic Manami Amamiya who calls herself Manabi and on her first day of school at Seioh decided to take the position of student council president. Will Manabi be able to bring her special spirit of "forward go" to the rest of Seioh high?

Manabi Straight is a cute little anime show about such things as the value of understanding others and learning to enjoy every day. This show is cute to the extreme with characters that look like elementary school kids rather than high school students but there isn't any real fan service so at least it isn't creepy. As for genre I would call this a slice of life show but unlike many of it's type this show has a bigger plot than it's episodic brethren. If a show that is cute to the extreme with a very sunny outlook on life is something that you might like then you will definitely find that something in Manabi Straight.
