Review Metal Fighter MikuWritten by WarpshadowRating good

Metal Fight Miku is a short and somewhat forgettable show about a spunky girl trying to be the best at what she does. It isn’t that bad but it isn‘t that good at the same time.

The face of pro wrestling has changed in the mid 21st century and now women wrestlers now fight in metal power suits. Miku of the pretty four is one such wrestler in a small league called the JWP. During a match Miku and her teammates are challenged by another team called the moonlight jewels. The pretty four are asked to join an inter-league tournament to decide who the greatest wrestling team is with the prize being a shot at fighting the champion Aquamarine. Aquamarine is the hero of Miku and she would love a match with her but that could be said of many wrestlers and she will have to beat them to get her shot.

Metal Fighter Miku is a slightly older sports anime about a fictional sport. This being the case the sport feels too ill-defined to really work as a sports show. This show is only thirteen episodes long and I feel is the show’s greatest weakness as there are several story threads that could have made the show a richer experience are cut short. This is most obvious in Miku’s team mates which feel wooden with ill defined personalities. The animation reflects the show’s age but not always in a good way. Overall Metal Fighter Miku is a mediocre show that I can’t really recommend for readers.
