Are you prepared for a rocking summer-time episode of ASO Radio? Good, glad to hear it, because we have one that's ready for you!

Nz17 is going to take you on spin through some anime reviews "shotgun style," and then we serve up a mighty fine video game review of a compilation of games for PSP.

(known as Wagnaria!! in North America) and an hour-long interview with the famous voice actor Sonny Strait and the musician - and convention favorite - Warky T. Chocobo. A nice mix of ASO Radio goodness that spans over ninety-eight minutes, this is an Episode you should not miss! "Wagnaria!!" Misc: "Sonny Strait + Warky T. Chocobo interview"

Yeesh, ASO Radio steps away from the spotlight for two weeks and the manga industry falters on its foundation. Is it a coincidence or is it the amazing power of ASO Radio's missing presence at work, causing a severe decline in purchasing habits? Yeah, that's what I thought too. You know that whole thing about shorter, more manageable Episode lengths? Yeah, about that: got into a bit of a rant about anime production and buyer purchasing habits, so a short Episode isn't happening this time. What is happening is a great bit of anime news, an anime review of a classic from the golden days of the late 80's / early 90's, and a review of a recent release for the Nintendo DS in the HotSpot section. Holy cows, we are back again! And by we, I mean a special guest and I. Who is this special guest? You'll have to listen to the Episode - or I'll have to stop being a schmuck - for you to find out. I think I'll just stop being a schmuck then, and tell you our super-special guest is none other than long-time and old-time co-host of the show, DB3! For those of you unfamiliar with his work, go back and listen to like #105 and just about everything between #58 and #94. I'm sure it is a good use of thirty-eight hours of your ever more precious life, unless you have a scheduling conflict or something, and then it's cool.

As the days pass, autumn turns into winter, and the onset of snow is the first sign that the year is nearly at an end. Where there is birth, there is death, so that there may be birth again. As is it with man, so is it with radio seasons. On a more chipper note, this is the end of Season 9 of ASO Radio, and we'll be wrapping things up with a final four of anime reviews. Okay this show has a small news section this time. But that's cool, right? I mean, you don't need to have huge blocks of news everytime, correct? Variety is the spice of life. I don't know what is the body of life, the meat, if you will, but variety apparently makes it taste good. And nobody wants to eat nasty meat without spice. But it is hard to market spicy nasty meat patties, so I think !XTREME! BERGERZ is a better name in this case. It is not a classy name, but mass consumerism is what sells in mass quantities. This Episode is wicked to the extreme! Wait, no, is that: !XTREME!? Maybe I need a few more X's, and maybe some Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew strangely is not only made with water from the gentle grasses of the mountains, but sugar, caffine, and some green flavor dust.

All I know is that the show is the phattest hottie. This may be a large warm thing of some nature. So I guess giant, burning flames are the popular stuff in this day and age. Which is pretty exciting. Also, new Episode. I think that should be mentioned.

Here is some sweet news: besides being listed on the iTunes podcast directory, ASO Radio is now also listed on Digg's podcast section. If you could take a moment to write a review of our podcast on iTunes as well, people will know how the show is, and that is a very cool thing indeed.

Remember, we have an import video game review on this show (which is always a treat), and we dish out the anime news. Let's listen!

At ASO Radio we are always striving to make the best anime talk radio (podcast) show that we can. Part of the process of making improvements involves changes and experiementation.

This week marks the first test run of a new delivery style for our show. Instead of one long show delivered only once per week, we've decided to experiment by providing one standard show broken up into daily segments. It is the same ASO Radio format you know and love, only now delivered in daily digestible bits.

Please be sure to take our poll on the bottom half of our Web site to let us know what you think of this new style.

We close out 2005 with a bang with this super-big Episode! We have lots of angsty fun with our Funny, feature a ton of quality reviews, update the news, and fan some mail. Then our HotSpot has two features, the second half of our Swaile/Smith interview and our annual year-end wrap-up review... thingy. Spend those gift cards well!

Have fun, and we'll see you in 2006!

A really funny Episode that was fun to make, #082 is one of our best. It includes our Funny, "Irresponsible President Bush," some meaty anime news (for a change), a couple of reviews that poke fun at boring anime, a manga review of Van Von Hunter, and the second part of our interview with voice actress Carrie Savage. "Haibane Renmei," "I'm Gonna Be An Angel" Manga Review: "Van Von Hunter"

A fast and furiously fun Episode, #081 provides the meaty goodness a growing otaku needs. We do some shotgun reviews and the fan mail, and then follow up with the first of our series of NDK 2005 interviews. Our first featured interview is with the courteous and caring Carrie Savage. Expect more interviews in our upcoming Episodes. So, yeah. This episode is a long one. We cover a bucket-full of news, a heaping helping of anime reviews, a smorgasborg of manga reviews, and a nice big side order of fanmail.

Our much touted NDK special Episodes ended up running into a few more problems than we had originally anticipated. As a result of those, instead of three daily shows and a live Episode, we have ended up with one recap show. The result is a rollicking good time as we recall the events and people of NDK, our successes and failures, and look forward to the future of ASO's con adventures. The final Episode before NDK 2005 (and the first of our seventh season) features us referring to the old-school with our Full Metal Alchemist funny. Afterwards we kick it up with some spicy news, throw out some new sound effects for the new season, and end up slapping a manga review on this baby before shipping her out of the ASO Radio Episode factory. "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi" Manga Review: "Ranma 1/2"
Video Game Review: "Animal Crossing (Gamecube)"

This Episode features one of the most intricate Funnies ever, and I think the effort shows with perfectly synched background music during this hilarious His and Her Circumstances spoof. Then we make the mistake of saying we're about to start our sixth season (this Episode is actually on the verge of the seventh season).

We've got a great, foot-loose vibe happening with this Episode, and that mood makes this Episode one of our best!

Fun trivia time: halfway through this Episode, we had to disband due to time constraints. The second half of the Episode would not be recorded until FOUR MONTHS later (from mid-June all the way until October). Then another two months passed until it was mixed together and put on the site! But though time separated these two halves, they eventually were conjoined to make a happy whole. And I think this is a pretty rockin' Episode no matter how you split it! We poke fun at our younger selves, past ASO memories, and our first Episode in this, our seventy-fifth Episode of ASO Radio. The usually rounds are made this Episode but we also do a good journey through fond memories, reflecting back upon the past and generally basking in our achievements from the past six years. Join us as we parody Jay Leno's Jay Walkers, feature some falsie commercials, review three (hundred) shows, and laugh it up a good deal with DB3's video game review. First we marry some of the most violent anime characters ever to have loved. Then we go a bit slow with a heaping helping of news, and then prattle on about how we'll be featuring some funny ads in the near future. Later we kick things into high gear with our "shotgun anime reviews" where we seemingly review approximately half of a small anime company's entire library of titles.

We so crazy.
"InuYasha Movie 2: Looking Glass," "Escaflowne," "Mao-chan," "Super Gals," "Grrl Power," "Withering Continent," "Detatoko Princess," "The Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman," "Escaflowne," "His and Her Circumstances" Misc: "Nz17 talks about the site and then goes crazy."

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Nz17 was left to his own devices without DB3 or ZGuy about to keep him in check? Wonder no more, but find out in this special Episode of ASO Radio. Think of it as the 'rambling Episode.' Yeah, he reviews Howl's Moving Castle, yet he just keeps going on and on, like some sort of broken record that keeps jumping to different tracks. I find it funny. I am cruel like that. "Howl's Moving Castle"

Much greatness with new Episode! We feature a preview of the upcoming Oh My Goddess! television series and for the first time in a long we have a manga review. Fan art too! And *gasp* we updated within the span of one week! What's becoming of the world? Anime Preview: "Ah! My Goddess (TV)"

Anyway, we have a brand new Episode for all you ASO faithful. And this Episodes sees the return of the ever elusive ZGuy! I must say that he's a lucky bloke, for he happened to come upon a show where we review a Studio Ghibli film. Or should I say SG? You'll see what I mean in this funny Ghibli wrap-up Episode of ASO Radio!

So what do we have for Episode #070? Well, lots of cool stuff, but I'm too busy to write it all down! I can tell you that ZGuy makes his return this Episode, and that plenty of laughs are on the way. But if you want to be a real help how about you stop by the ASO Radio forum to help us get together descriptions for the next few Episodes.

...And now we return to the present from the past Episode which was in the future. Right. Regardless, this Episode has lots of energy and is plenty of fun. We bring you this week an enthusiastic Episode #062 of ASO Radio. We start things with an appetizing review of a classic anime, follow it up with a tasty fanmail segment, and then wash it down with a high-grade video game review in the HotSpot. Enjoy, mon amie!

After such a long delay between Episodes #061 and #062 I bet some of you were starting to get worried about what happened to us. Well since we've been gone we've figured out the golden formula for bringing out regular, fresh Episodes. What does that mean? That means that we are going to flush out our cache of prerecorded Episodes (#062 - #067), bringing you a new show every week for the foreseeable future, and then after #068 all the Episodes are going to be bakery-fresh like a warm, chewy crescent. The first of two Episodes reviewing the Ranma 1/2 OAVs is what we have for you this week dedicated listeners, yet you'll have to wait until Episode #063 for us to review the second half. Why? Well that's a surpise, and it's good to have variety!

Now the holidays are happening right now, but we here at ASO Radio won't let that stop us from bringing you new Episodes! In that spirit, though many schools and businesses may take that day off, we'll still be providing a new Episode, #062, this upcoming Wednesday to keep you warm during this chilly time of year. So curl up with some cocoa and enjoy the festive holidays with the ASO Crew!

Also, we're going to begin selling the ASO Radio compilation discs this month, so keep an eye out on the Donations box in the near future for those. Though they won't be free, they are more than worth the price of admission.
